For this weekend’s EMCO Gears Classic at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, local AA Baseball Club – the Akron Aeros will be partnered up with Team Sahlen. On the rear quarter panels of both the #42 & #43 Mazda RX-8s will be the large prominent signage of the Akron Aeros web site address, as well as the famous team logo with the Orbit Mascot on the side.
This event is the accumulation of several cross promotions developed between the two entities. The events started at the 2nd home game of the year at Canal Park in downtown Akron, Ohio when the Aeros hosted the entire Team Sahlen crew and their families for a Friday night game. The Team Sahlen party was 30+ individuals strong. Everyone enjoyed the night, that included the Aeros Kids Zone, Good eats at the concession stand, as well as watching the hometeam win the game. After it was all over, everyone was treated to a Fireworks display set to Led Zepplin music.

Part of our collaboration includes a fantastic Ticket Voucher giveaway to a selected Aeros game via our Subway Restaurants in the area. The Aeros current record is 32 wins and 20 loses. This places them in 1st place in the EAS Western Division Standings, a well as the best record in the entire EAS League. The Aeros have accumulated an impressive record over the years since moving from Canton to Akron, Ohio. They have secured the South Division in 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009. And additionally won the Eastern League Championship in 2003, 2005 & 2009.
The EMCO Gears Classic at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course will be on June 9th, at 4:30 pm. The race will be televised live on SPEEDTV.
